Recode’s Alex Abdo talks to Peter Kafka about the new Amazon video game, “The Big Bang Theory.”
The new Amazon game “The Bizarro Planet” is “one of the most fun games I’ve played,” Abdo says.
And while he’s no stranger to video games, “this one really grabbed my attention.”
Abdo played it for the first time when it launched on the App Store on June 1, and he has played it a few times since.
He says it’s “a game about the weirdness of the universe, which is not only funny, but it’s also very cool.”
The story follows a man named Sheldon who is stuck in an alternate universe where he’s unable to interact with his real-life family.
He’s able to play as Sheldon’s robot friend Zoidberg, who helps him explore the world and solve mysteries.
He also has his own spaceship, the spaceship-shaped “Celestial,” which he can fly around.
Abdo’s first impression was that it was “so simple” and “just the same game.”
He says that he’s “always been into the idea of building things and doing things that are a little bit crazy.”
He also thinks it “is pretty funny,” since it “has a lot of weird characters.”
The game’s description on Amazon suggests it’s going to “bring some more science fiction to our television universe.”
In addition to “The Boss” and the upcoming “The Borg,” Abdeo says he’s looking forward to the “The Amazing Spider-Man 3” movie.
But Abdo won’t be playing the game “just yet.”
He’s working on a documentary about “The Incredible Hulk,” and he’s also working on “The Martian,” “Fantastic Beasts” and other projects that he thinks will be “great.”
He’ll share more about the games he’s working with at a later date, but for now, he’s playing the latest release.
