Play stock up 5% as JPMorgan shares surge as J&P goes public
Stock markets were open Monday for the first time since the government shut them down after the election.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 27.82 points, or 0.9%, to 23,664.83, the S& ;P 500 gained 5.19 points, 0.4%, to 2,957.85 and the Nasdaq Composite added 6.53 points, 1.3%, to 4,828.13.
The S&p 500 was down 8.2% from last week, while the Nas, which tracks the technology stocks, was up 12.3%.
The Dow is the S & ; P 500’s main indicator for economic activity.
