
Oilers sign two forwards with stock: BERKSHIRE HASAWAY AND CRM stock
Oilers have signed two forwards for next season.
Both of those players are forwards.
The other player, defenseman Brandon Merriweather, was a member of the Edmonton Oilers 2013 Stanley Cup winning team.
Merriweather played in seven games for Edmonton last season, recording two goals and five assists.
He has been a free agent since the 2015-16 season.
In addition to signing Merriwater, the Oilers also have added forward Jordan Schroeder.
Schroeder, a second-round pick of the Anaheim Ducks in 2013, has been playing in the ECHL this season with the Lake Erie Monsters.
Schroeder was a second round pick of Anaheim in 2017.
He was traded to Anaheim in a three-team deal.
With the signing of Merriwether and Schroeder in the off-season, the Oiler organization has seven forwards on the roster for the upcoming season.
With the recent trades of defenseman Matt Tennyson and forward Josh Hachey, the roster will have a total of eight forwards.
The Oilers currently have eight players on their roster.
Goalie Anders Nilsson was acquired in a trade with the Edmonton Ducks last season.
In six games with the Oilers this season, Nilsson has a 0.90 goals against average and a .933 save percentage.
Nilsson also had a goal and an assist in a 4-3 overtime win over the Minnesota Wild on Nov. 17.
Defenseman Nicklas Grossmann was acquired from the Anaheim Angels on July 5.
Grossmann has appeared in nine games with Anaheim this season.
He has a 1.88 goals against a .901 save percentage and two shutouts.
Forward Jordan Schroder was acquired by the Edmonton Flames on March 2.
Schroder, who played in nine career games with Calgary, has a 2.08 goals against and a 1 to 2.20 save percentage this season for Calgary.
Defensive defenseman Brandon Bollig, acquired from Edmonton in the Brandon Wheat Kings deal on July 30, has recorded two goals, four assists and a plus-4 rating in eight games with Edmonton this season (3-3-1 record).
Forward Josh Hachse, acquired in the Ryan Kesler trade on March 15, has registered one goal, three assists and three points in seven appearances with Edmonton.
Czech center Tomas Jurco, acquired on June 12, has three points (1 goal, 3 assists) in two games with Minnesota this season and has played in 14 games for the Wild this season having recorded two assists.
The Oilers are currently on pace to finish the season at 18-19-7-4 (78 points).
