How to beat the Datsuns in 2017-18
If you want to beat any team in the NHL, it starts with taking care of business.
It starts with scoring goals and it doesn’t end there.
In 2017-2018, the New York Islanders finished second in the league in scoring and first in goals.
The Datsun blue line scored 13 goals in 30 games, good for third in the Eastern Conference, and they finished fourth in the Atlantic Division.
They were second in goals per game (2.04) and were second overall in power play goals per 60 minutes (1.63).

The Ducks led the NHL in goals scored (12), and the Lightning were third (11).
They were tied for third overall in goals allowed (16.7), and they were tied with the Rangers for third on the power play.
The two teams were the top two scorers in the West.
The Sharks had a great start to the season, posting a record of 19-5-2, a good start.
They won five of their first seven games and the Sharks had two wins against the Canucks and Blackhawks before losing four of their next five games.
In the last six games of the season the Sharks were 2-0-0, including a 3-1 victory over the Colorado Avalanche in the first round of the playoffs.
They then lost three straight, including two straight games in regulation.
The Sharks are now 0-2-0 against the Pacific Division, with their last loss coming in the Western Conference finals.
The Edmonton Oilers were on pace for their worst start to a season since they were 1-12-0 in 1999-2000.
Edmonton went 0-9-0 before going 6-5 in the final seven games.
They have been outscored in four of the last five games, including five of the past six.
Edmonton is 4-9 in the last 10 games, with three of those wins coming by three or fewer goals.
They have scored the second-most goals per contest in the Stanley Cup Playoffs (2).
The Oilers have not won a playoff game since April 23, 2017.
They also have a record over the last three seasons of 22-20-5, which is their lowest overall record in the playoffs since 1992-93.
The Toronto Maple Leafs had their worst record in two years, but they were still the best team in their division, scoring 15 goals and shooting a league-best 59.6 percent from the point.
They finished with the second best power play percentage (56.3 percent).
The Maple Leafs scored three goals in three game series against the Montreal Canadiens.
They went 5-1-1 against the New Jersey Devils and Boston Bruins.
They also defeated the New England Revolution 4-3 in overtime in the series.
They scored two power play goal against the Columbus Blue Jackets in Game 3.
The Maple Leasters had a chance to win the series after going into overtime, but were unable to score.
The Florida Panthers had a disappointing start to their season, going 5-9, including three straight losses.
They are 5-12 in the next seven games, after going 8-6-0 the first seven.
They had two losses in their last five.
The Panthers were 4-7-1 when the season ended.
The Arizona Coyotes started the season with a 5-3-1 record and have a 17-7 win-loss record since the All-Star break.
They currently have a 5.29 goals-against average and are tied for first in the Pacific.
They played the best hockey of any team last season.
Arizona scored five goals in the season opener against the Dallas Stars, which they did against the San Jose Sharks, who they won 2-1.
The Coyotes were 9-4-0 when they played the Sharks, and 4-1 in their next six games.
They went 2-2 in their final seven before losing three of four.
The most important win came in Game 6 against the Arizona Coyotes, when they defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 3-2.
The Winnipeg Jets finished the season 9-5 and have the best record in their conference.
They defeated the Ottawa Senators 4-2 on Monday night in overtime.
